# to tackle them, a solution needs to be built for the people
a consumer-focused ai app - advanced ai capabilities behind the simplest interface
it struck me
ai
- needs to run where people work, ie, **desktop & mobile**
- must be a worker, not a chat, with its **own account & email address**
- needs to be **onboarded & taught** like a colleague - and remember user preference and style
- must be as **easy to use** as your phone, point and shoot camera, or a dishwasher - **cogit** is designed around just one button, "**the orb**":
![[Pasted image 20250510233937.png]]
*as seen in my desktop electron app*
- must be able to load or **generate hundreds of ai agents** to cover a variety of needs - creating an abstraction layer instead of trying to brute-force universality, without the user having to git clone, spin up vms with fastapi servers - see my post [[ai make ai]]
![[Pasted image 20250510234245.png]]
- must be **tool-agnostic and non-pretentious**: eg, if bolt.new is the best agent for the job, run it with browser use instead of rebuilding
- must be an **ai-first product** - with protocols, interfaces, data, and languages - built for ai, by ai, from scratch - with the most light-weight agent framework and software layer ever, to benefit from the self-referential metalearning and continuous improvement of foundation models
most importantly, all of the **data, compute, and models must be owned** by the user
this
- ensures **balance of power** through distributed nature of control
- foster **alignment of ai** with human preference as each instance is fully custom
- creates the first true **consumer ai app** for the people not their employers
welcome to **cogit**
